Harder, better, faster, stronger. I'm back.
Posted: Wednesday, July 21, 2010 by Jacob Rice inHello Bloggers! I know I haven't been here lately, so I decided to start posting frequently again. I was just at the point where I was blogging and no one was reading. So I just stopped. I know... great solution, right? Well then I realized that in order to have people read your blog, you need to blog! It was staring me in the face the whole time and I didn't see it. I do regret not being on. I haven't been on to talk about my Mondays and the stories that go with them, the books I have been reading, or any other interesting story. But, Rambling Writes is back, and he's staying.
First, let's start off with how I started my day today. Lately, I have wanted to get some sun. I am very white and hate sitting next to someone tanner then me. It's not so much that I care that they are more tan, but when you use me for comparison, you see how white I am. So I went out and intended to tan all day (it is really sunny here in Illinois). I lasted an hour before I was sweaty, my heart beat was elevated, and I felt like I was going to die. Baby steps...right? SO I will have to go out more often to get acquainted with the beloved ball of fire.
Second, I need to tell you about the next book I am reading. Of course as a writer, I tend to get way too involved with books. My pen and paper tend to get jealous. It is an ongoing affair that I cannot help but keep doing. Right now, I am reading City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. This is the third book in the Mortal Instruments Series. I haven't been on lately, so I couldn't tell you when I was reading the first two books: City of Bones and City of Ashes. All of the books are awesome and are going to be made in to a movie in the near future. I am not much of a vampire, demon, angel, werewolf kind of guy at all. I steer far from Twilight (no offense Twilight readers, I condone your pack together). I am more of a Harry Potter guy, but then again, who isn't these days? The Mortal Instruments Series is an interesting read. A lot of battles and twists are placed throughout the novel. The author writes in a way that anyone can visualize the characters and their surroundings. Some things are a bit predictable and the dialogue is not its strong point, but I recommend that anyone should read it and give it a try. It isn't the worst novel. That was my short and sweet review by the way. Simple. To the point. If anyone would like to read, check out, or buy these books, just click the widget on the left taking you to Amazon.
Third, as for my writing, I am having a little trouble. I am doing fine with the whole writing part. I like twists in books and that is exactly what mine is filled with. Not to many like a soap opera, but not none like the TV guide. Haha. Was that a good enough analogy? Well the only problem I am having is the title. I want it to be a series of 4, but what do you even call a series of 4 books these days? I want it to have a series name, and then individual names. Hopefully, my title block will fix itself.
Fourth, I wanted to start something on this blog with music. My song pick of the day is: Somewhere a Clock is Ticking by Snow Patrol. Go listen to it. It is awesome. A little depressing, but great lyrics!
Well, that is all I have to say for today. Those were my Rambling Writes. I hope everyone enjoys their Wednesday. Remember, today is the half point in the week. Only 2 more days after this! Drop me comment, question, suggestion, etc. I will try to get back to you immediately.
Rambling Writes is back.
Keep writing. That's all I can say. If you do, your time will come.
